Geocaching NSW held its Annual General Meeting on Sunday 9th of August. The virtual meeting was attended by 21 financial members of the association.

The President provided an overview of the Geocaching NSW events organised in the past financial year.  After the Treasurer presented an overview of the finances, it was time to look to the year ahead.

The outgoing committee was thanked for their efforts, especially Frits Coenen (Its_Dozzie) who decided not run for re-election. With one new position to be filled, we accepted Charmaine Turnbull (cosmonaut97) who nominated from the floor, so all positions were filled for 2026-2027:

  • President: Mark Weber (Brewmaker)
  • Vice President: Will Benson (rassilon256)
  • Treasurer: Melissa Fitzpatrick-Cullen (minniek)
  • Secretary: Bob Moes (Shrek)
  • Ordinary Members: Marianne Aldridge (mizmaz), Gavin Howarth (gavingo) & Charmaine Turnbull (cosmonaut97)

Traditionally, the destination for the GCNSW Expedition 2027 was announced. Port Macquarie is the venue. The expedition will be held over the weekend of 5th – 7th March 2027.

Another highlight was the presentation of the annual GCNSW geocoin. This year’s coin is dedicated to well-known Australian bush poet and author, Banjo Paterson. The coin features the Man from Snowy River, and a selection of famous titles of Banjo’s poems. Visit our shop to place your order, or see some of our committee members at future events.
