Mudgee Invasion Event

It is just 2 weeks out now from our third "Regional Invasion" style event that we hope a few cachers will be able to attend. This year we are headed to the Central Tablelands town of Mudgee with the help of Sugarbuzz82, a local geocacher. You can find the published event page here.

The town of Mudgee is located about 270km North West, about a 3.5 to 4 hour drive from the centre on Sydney. While it is possible to come up and return home in a day, that wouldn't leave a lot of time for caching! While not essential as the official event will be on the Sunday, we recommend making a weekend of it spending the Saturday exploring all the region has to offer, staying the Saturday night in or near town, and attending the Sunday lunch get together in Mudgee itself. A few members of the Committee will be doing just that.

Outside of boxes hidden in various different ways Mudgee boasts a wine industry that is rapidly gaining renown and a culture for fine food and produce. The event will be held at Lawson Park, a tree littered green space on the banks of the Cudgegong River that has amenities, a children's playground and even the local swimming pool.

We hope to see some Mudgee folk and some familiar faces as well as the 'almost' locals from the Bluies, Bathurst and Beyond! To check out accomodation options, organise car pooling, get a list of great local wineries and caches or just ask a question, please head to the forum!
